Heteronychus licas Klug, 1835 (Geotrupes)

Heteronycus licas is easy to distinguish from the other species of this genus present in Levant, H.parumpunctatus, having the pronotum nearly unpunctate.

It is largely distributed in North and tropical Africa and penetrates the Levant in Sinai and Israel.
